Swimming Lessons

The girls had swimming lessons this week at Mrs. Debbie's private pool at her home. They have all taken swim lessons from her since they were 3 years old. She is an amazing teacher and it is amazing how much they learn in that one week. She always keeps her pool really warm so the kids are okay with getting in. The weather was really cold and rainy all week but luckily half of her pool is covered so it didn't seem to bother them. They all love to go swimming and it is fun to see how they progress each year. I always try to schedule their swim lessons at the beginning of June so that they have all summer to practice what they learned.

Their teacher always does underwater pictures and gives them to us the last day. Here is Mallory with her underwater picture. I love that she has her eyes open (I know I can't do that without goggles).

This is the second day going off the diving board. She did great the first day but for some reason the second day none of the kids wanted to go off and they were all crying and the parents had to help them off. LeeAnn and Spencer came to watch them the last day so she helped her go off while I took a picture. I think one kid starts to cry and it gets them all going.

Going off the slide.

Mallory did really well at putting her head in the water and blowing bubbles. Last year was a mom and me class and she was terrified of the water and would barely do this. I am so happy she isn't afraid this year.

She had her class with her cousin Pieper.

Here is Adelie's underwater picture.

She did great going off the diving board.

She is really becoming a great swimmer.

Whytli's underwater picture.

Mrs. Debbie promised when I first took Whytli to the mom and me class at the age of 3 that if I continued to bring her back every year she would be a great swimmer by the age of 8. Well she is 8 now and she is an amazing swimmer. She does really well.

They got to jump off the diving board several times and Mrs. Debbie would throw some rings up in the air and they would jump up and catch them.

Whytli was really proud of herself this year because Mrs. Debbie chose her and another girl to be the ones to swim in the middle of the pool all the way across while they were practicing. She chose them because they were the best swimmers and the others had to be on the edge so that they could stop and hold on if needed. She was really good at her back stroke.
